Practices

It is very important to attend practices and meets. However, we are aware that other sports schedules may conflict in the beginning of the season and just ask that you communicate your swimmers situation to the coach. We also understand that swimmers will take vacations during the summer. Again, please notify the coaches when you will be out of town. This is the responsibility of the parents and swimmers… not the coaches. Notifying the coaches that a swimmer is going on vacation will assist the coaching staff as well as the board in ensuring that a swimmer does not lose out on going to a sanction meet. For those swimmers who may have commitments to school functions that may require them to miss some practices or meets, please make sure you notify the coaches as soon as possible so they can plan accordingly.
Inclement weather is one factor that we cannot predict. Our practice schedule is set for the entire season and cannot be altered. If we have questionable weather we will put out a calling post message immediately before practices begin. Please check calling post list to make sure you have a number where you can be reached at any time for updates. If a practice is missed due to inclement weather, it will not be made up. If there is a change in the weather once practice has begun, please come at once to the pool to pick up your child. If the weather is questionable and you are unsure of whether or not practice is sill on, please call the pool at (770) 822-5410. The lifeguards are here for the safety of the swimmers. In the event of inclement weather, the lifeguards will decide when it is safe to get in the water. The lifeguards’ decision is final!
